What do our spleens do, and what happens to us if it is removed?

it’s an organ within your upper left side of your abdomen, next to your stomach and behind your ribs (left ribs?). It’s a part of your immune system but you without it you will live as your liver can take over it’s functions.
What’s it do? fights off germs in your blood basically and controls blood cell levels.
