What do people mean when they say a show/movie is “conceptual”

“Conceptual Art” in general means that the important part is the really ultra-complex idea or ideas behind it, more than the actual product. So the *thought* put into making and displaying it is more important than, say, what it looks like or the level of technical skill involved or whether it’s actually enjoyable to watch in the traditional sense.
