My router has lights that pop up for US/DS, online, 2.4 and 5ghz i understand that 2.4/5ghz is the wifi and 5 is better for shorter distance than 2.4ghz but what does the US/DS mean and can I also get some suggestions for a new router, this one is pretty beat

Upstream and Downstream = This displays if your modem/router is able to receive as well as output information. So essentially if you had only the US light going, the modem/router is sending info but not receiving any due to bad coax port or fibre line or port isn’t active.
2.4Ghz = This is a band of wifi, it’s better for long range, but only expect around 50mbps wirelessly.
5Ghz = Faster but not as good of range. It has more wifi channels available so it doesn’t get congested. If you have static items in your house that stay in one spot and can use the 5Ghz, use it!
