I see chewing gum advertised as being able to clean your teeth and mouth, but how does it do this apart from making my breath smell better?

Well you are producing more saliva, the gum is dancing around in your mouth and rubbing on your teeth… there’s just a lot of motion going on and it does help to remove leftover food particles.
It’s like brushing your teeth but like at 2% the power.
