What does umami taste like? I’m so frustrated as I went through several reddit posts explaining it and still don’t get it

Some say it tastes like MSG or pork or soy sauce, I don’t have MSG/soy sauce where I live, I don’t eat pork. Is the aftertaste of tomatoes umami?

Things like tomatoes, cheese, mushrooms, burger patties taste like umami. It’s a ‘meaty’ flavor.
