What exactly does an hdmi dummy plug do? Is it like a flash drive or is it like a remote?

It’s for when you remote into certain computers. They need to be outputting something to “a display” for there to be a display for the person remoting in to control.
The display doesn’t need to be a real full sized monitor that anyone sitting at the computer could actually see. Tricking the computer into thinking there’s one there is sufficient.
