As someone with autism it’s very weird and difficult for me to explain. I’m a fully functioning human, but some parts of me are lacking, or example empathy. I (as well as many other people with autism) struggle with empathy. Another thing I struggle with is social cues, sometimes I don’t know when to stop with banter and it has led to lost friendships, people with autism struggle to pick up people emotions so therefore don’t know what’s appropriate to say at certain times. Luckily I was diagnosed young (7) and had lots of therapy and support growing up so a lot of people don’t actually know I have autism and are surprised to learn so.
