Fuck all the other comments. So called “Net Neutrality” was part of a bigger bill originally.
But, basically, the name is misleading. What the actual bill, that has been shut down and denied over and over again, is that basically any service provider would be allowed to charge extra for their normal level of service.
So, for example, not only do you currently have to pay for YouTube Premium to watch commercial free, but, under the so called “Net Neutrality Bill”, you’d also have to pay extra to your ISP for “premium speeds” for an overall website package, but you’d also have to pay extra for “premium access” to “premium websites”.
So basically, they wanted to legally allow ISPs to double and triple bill you.
And that was without considering the further fallout of such bullshit.
