Most of the incinerator bottom ash is being sold as aggregate and is used in the industry in a very similar fashion to rock aggregate. For example in concrete or asphalt or just as a filler material.

It’s collected and disposed of, probably by landfill in the backyard.
After combustion, there’s probably only a couple of grams of ash remaining, so it can just be scattered wherever and nobody would notice.
