: What happens when we get light-headed?

More specifically: light-headedness from getting up too fast. A year ago I started working out (resistance training and cardio) and lost about 30kg. I feel like I’m in the best shape of my life now, but for some reason it feels like the instances of feeling light-headed after standing up from a lying or sitting position have increased tenfold. How come?

OP, you most likely have corrected (lowered) your blood pressure through getting much fitter. When you stand up quickly, it momentarily drops your BP as your body needs a second to catch up and correct this. You are also probably now more able to get up from laying / standing much more easily, exacerbating this too.

Check your resting heart rate, check your BP and if these are fine you most likely dont have anything to worry about
