What (if any) difference between pipe tobacco and cigarette tobacco?

My BIL swears that the cigarillos that he smokes are different (better or healthier) than a standard cigarette. From my limited understanding of tobacco is that it is the same, just the processing is different (tobacco companies add chemical additives, etc) is there any other difference other than that?

It’s all processed, but differently.

Cigarette tobacco is processed for flavor, nicotine, and additives to increase the uptake. Pipe tobacco is generally naturally processed by various means for flavor, texture, and shape. Nicotine is usually a secondary consideration.

Different blends to start with. Usually to achieve different flavors. Pipe tobacco is cut differently. And I’m not sure about cigarillos, but cigarettes are adulterated with some foul chemical that makes them go out rather than keep burning.
