pretty much the amount of a resource(energy in the form of calories, hp, electrictity, thermal, etc) it takes to move something, or how much of that resource(energy) is being used when an object is being moved.

Kinetic energy makes up half of all mechanical energy. The other half is potential energy.

Example: a roller coaster is increasing in potential energy as it climbs while the kinetic energy is decreasing. As the roller coaster descends, the potential energy decreases and the kinetic energy increases.

Both kinetic and potential always equal 100%.

Kinetic energy is the energy of moving stuff, as opposed to heat energy or electrical energy.

It’s the energy caused by movement. It depends on weight and speed. The more heavy and fast you are, the more kinetic energy you have.

KE is the inherent energy an object possesses because it is moving as many here have alluded to. It might be helpful to think of it instead as the amount of energy that one would require in order to slow a moving object to a full stop.

Kinetic energy equals (1/2) m*v^2.

It is half the mass of an object multiplied by its velocity squared.

energy from moving stuff.

Why does moving stuff have energy? because moving stuff likes to keep moving, so in order to stop it or slow it down, you have to apply energy

like bill nye says, inertia is a property of matter
