I’m an aerospace engineer and the Electrical Engineering guys throw that term around a lot. It’s definitely not my area of expertise and I find myself growing ever more confused about what these plots are, what they show me, and what I should look for when viewing them.

It’s an easy way to graph the gain and phase shift of a control system as a function of frequency. This is typically displayed logarithmically and is very useful when designing transfer functions like filters.
