What is a Negative-strand RNA virus and/or Positive-strand RNA virus?

I have watched several YouTube videos but have unfortunately become to confused too follow. I can only find information that seems like it pertains to advanced level medical students. Can anyone explain in simple terms the difference?

When discussing viral RNA, **positive-strand** (or positive-sense) **RNA** can be transcribed into proteins as it is, with no additional work.

**Negative-strand** (or negative-sense) **RNA** cannot, and must have a positive-strand sequence created by another enzyme, which is then transcribed.
