Just a random thought, it doesn’t seem like the pressure from your forearms would be great enough to cause inflammation. Is it because there was lack of blood supply in the capillaries in the skin and after compression is released they are flooded with blood?
It’s the result of “capillary refill action” – essentially blood rushing to an area where it was restricted from going for the period you were sitting on the toilet. So..yes, your hypothesis is correct.
