I know it’s some sort of explosives test, but I just walked through with a backpack I normally take to the range and no issues. I always assumed they were looking for gunpowder residue or something similar, but apparently not.
They are looking for trace chemicals that are commonly used in explosives that might have left residue on your clothes or body. Gunpowder explodes, so I imagine gunpowder is one of the things they’re looking for, unless you have heard otherwise.
