What is autoerotic asphyxiation and how can one die from it?

Auto means “self”
Erotic means “sexual”
Asphyxiation means “not breathing”
All together it means giving yourself sexual pleasure while depriving yourself of air.
Apparently it feels extra good or something.
If you asphyxiate for too long you pass out or die.
Autoerotic asphyxiation is when someone suffocates themselves in order to pleasure themselves. It isn’t intentional suicide, but a search for a sort of high that comes from near suffocation that synchronizes well with masturbation. Of course, while this could feel good, choke yourself too long and you’re dead.
Deriving sexual pleasure from being choked or choking yourself. You die because well, without oxygen ….
I’m pretty sure asphyxiation is specifically a cause of death. Like electrocution. You can choke and live, or get shocked and live, but if you’re electrocuted or asphyxiate, you’re dead by definition.
Intensifying sexual pleasure by reducing airflow to your brain at the same time. When you drown or suffocate, your body releases an immense amount of dopamine before you die. Sexual pleasure also releases dopamine so these two in tandem lead to a ton of pleasure by the person attempting this. You die because you suffocate

If you’re alone, you might try to create a mechanism where you can both strangle yourself and masturbate but end the strangulation before you black out and die. There’s a high failure rate.
