Think of a piano. Cut it in half down the middle. The keys on the right side are treble and the keys on the left side are bass.

The treble notes are a higher pitch than the bass notes.

Where it really matters is in sheet music. If you’ve ever seen piano sheet music you will see two groups of 5 lines. The top five lines is the treble clef and the bottom five lines are the bass clef. Each key of the piano has a different spot either on or between those lines. Some keys will fall into the gap between the two clefs and those notes can be considered either treble or bass (usually depending on which one they are closer to).

Other instruments will usually only see one clef on their sheet music. For example, a flute will play the treble clef and a tuba will play the bass clef.
