what is BigQuery?

BigQuery is a place to store a lot of information like a warehouse for information. It uses Google’s cloud organization to do large calculations that on a typical computer would take forever because of CPU limitations. Something like that?

****No computer science jargon please****

EDIT: I SHOULD HAVE ASKED “how does BigQuery” work?

This became possible because of the Cloud technology which allowed the migration, sharing and manipulation of data in a more secure way. Customers sign up and migrate their data to cloud storage and use BigQuery for analytics, forecasts, trends etc. Which Google can also use for various purposes in exchange.
Same concept applies on how it consumes resources like any good web app, which becomes scalable because it’s deployed as an AAAS (Application as a service)
