It’s impossible. The amount of microorganisms in any place is so high that there’s no chance of all of them being killed. A few of them will resist the chemicals that you used, or manage to avoid them.

I mean just on your hand alone, there are trillions of viruses. And they all adapt and evolve so fast that its just not something we can stop completely. And this makes it so the organisms that are alive pass on resistance to the chemical to their next generation, making the spray even less effective with each use.

This is actually a gigantic and terrifying problem.

Most of the time, lawyers.

If someone advertises that spray kills 100% of bacteria and can demonstrate somehow that some bacterium survived the washing, then they can be sued for false advertising.

Leaving 0.01% just makes sure they cant be sued.

nah its mostly just the provider of those product protecting themselves against litigation.

if you claim that your product kills 100% bacteria and someone can demonstrate otherwise(either legitimately or not) they could potentially take you to court for False advertising.

As I understand it it will kill 100% of the germs it comes in contact with, the issue is actually getting into contact with all the germs. Surfaces aren’t that smooth at germ size levels and have places that germs can hide.
