A conservative group that was created specifically to make plans for when Trump becomes president again, such that they can maximize the effectiveness of a Trump presidency in achieving as many far right goals as possible, by being organized about it from the get-go.

Think drastically increasing the power of the president for one, especially over all the government departments by enormously increasing the number of political appointees, such that the government agencies would no longer have any choice but to always follow any and all instructions by the president.

John Oliver had an excellent episode of Last Week Tonight about it just a week ago, which you can find here: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYwqpx6lp_s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYwqpx6lp_s)

Essentially, if you want the USA to move drastically towards being a Christian theocracy, vote Trump.

The Trump administration were caught by surprise when they won the election in 2016. There are thousands of leadership positions needed to fill and a very concise plan if you ever hope to accomplish things. Trump made no preparation before taking office. So most positions were not filled until the end of the administration and even then a lot of them had people unfitted for the job. Trump had a habit of just pointing to random people and appointing them to high ranking government positions. So naturally the Trump administration did not work efficiently and were hardly able to do any of the things they wanted.

When Trump lost the 2020 election the politicians and bureaucrats of his administration who were competent and had just started to be able to work together started planning for 2025. They have for the past four years schemed to put together comprehensive policies, finding conservatives to put in each government leadership position, working with the Republicans in Congress and supreme court, etc. This is Project 2025 and includes things like cutting social welfare, cutting taxes for the rich, spend more money on government contracts, cutting government utilities like mail, weather reporting, research, transportation and the IRS.

Well there has been a lot of fearmongering about it, because almost no one has actually read the damn the thing. probably because its over 900 pages, which I can’t really blame them for. Here it is if you want to take a look at it

But almost immediately in its first few pages, it states that this is not a compressive overview of policies nor is it the only direction of ideas. It even acknowledges that conservatives may not agree with some of its points

Its main theme is criticizing the many ineffective agencies of the federal government. Many of these agencies were only created in the past 100 years and were not an intended part of government. Many people push back against this because they take these agencies at face value, that just because they were created for something good means that they’re doing something good

There is also heavy fearmongering about this making Trump a dictator by removing these federal agencies, but the truth is that it would only be restoring the power that the president should already have, because it was fractured within these agencies
