you can think of it as efficiency of a given rocket design for a given fuel. In general the higher ISP the better
A measure of efficiency. The unit is in seconds, which is kind of weird, but it essentially means how long it can accelerate at 1g with a given fuel mass, afaik. So if a engine could put out 1 ton of force, and doing so with 1 ton of fuel would let it run for 300 seconds, then the ISP is 300 seconds.
