what is that hot liquid that is in your mouth right before you throw up? I had a bad case of food poisoning yesterday and I was talking to my husband about this and he rarely throws up and had no clue what I was talking about.

You salivate reflexively when you are about to vomit. This dilutes your stomach contents as it come up to your throat and mouth and protects those parts from the acid.
