What is the big deal about “steel-cut” foods?

698 viewsOther

I see various product, from oatmeal to other items as advertised as being Steel-cut. The last time I checked, yes, most blades are made from steel. I can’t imagine oatmeal being cut by a wooden or plastic blade.

So why is this even a thing?

Oatmeal is bad for you anyway.

There were some unfounded claims about heart health in the 90s, but it was all longitudinal studies.

The reality is oatmeal is empty calories like pasta or sugar. Avoid it, it’s trash and it tastes terrible
