what is the chemical difference between hand cream/lotion and body cream/lotion?

I’m guessing different manufacturers have different approaches, so if you compare these two products from the same brand it should be obvious. Like hand lotion being less greasy, and absorbing faster, and easier to spread out thin (viscosity) etc. I’m kinda guessing but I’d say it’s the water/fat ratio that’s changing, with main ingredients being very similar.
Basically. To me they are the same.
But the truth is hand lotion is usually thicker and meant to last. Because you was your hands throughout the day.
I think you should be asking this about face products. Our face has much more sensitive skin and pores than the rest of our body
