“Corporation” in this context refers to a municipal corporation, which is just the legal structure for the city, and has nothing to do with any business.

“London” is a huge area that span numerous legally-distinct entities. Most of those are the “boroughs,” which have their own council and work in concert with the Greater London Authority. The City of London is not a borough but is similar in many respects. It’s part of the historic center of London and is the home to its financial district.

The City is its own parliamentary constituency (electoral district), but that’s not really anything special.
