As title says why cant i just buy a big television and also use that as a monitor, what is the difference

A TV is basically a monitor with many features added, like better speakers (or speakers at all), tuner for receiving television from cable, terrestrial or satellite, apps like youtube/twitch/amazon.
The most basic TV is essentially a big monitor.
