As title says why cant i just buy a big television and also use that as a monitor, what is the difference

If you’re going to use a TV, make sure it has a game mode (or something similar) feature. This will reduce the input lag that usually make TV’s not as good as a monitor (though I’m unsure if game mode makes it as good as a monitor, or is just an improvement over the default mode).
