A cession is specific to a right being transferred. So if you have the right of first refusal in a contract, and you are transferring that right to someone, that is a cession.

A delegation is when you transfer an obligation to someone. So if a contract requires you to pay something, if you transfer that responsibility to someone else, that is a delegation.

An assignment is **a combination** of cessions and delegations. An assignment is when both rights and obligations in a contract are transferred to someone else.
