Paranoia is unjustified fear. Being scared of things that are unlikely to actually happen, or where no evidence points at the thing happening.

Reasonable doubt means, as the name implies that there is a reason. The thing happens from time to time, or there are credible hints that the thing will happen to you.

For example:

You believe there is a government conspiracy targeting specifically you, they want to imprison you for arbitrary reasons. The absense of evidence is seen as evidence for it being a professional conspiracy that leaves no evidence. That’s paranoia, as you have no reasonable hint that they target you and not anyone else.

Paranoia is like believing there’s a monster under your bed, reasonable doubt is questioning if it’s really just your cat.

Reasonable doubt: someone might be plotting against me.

Paranoia: I just know that they’re *all* plotting against me.
