Traditionally, all people with the same condition would be managed in a similar way. In personalized medicine, these patients are divided into different groups depending on their personal status, for example lung cancer patients are treated based on their personal mutation status, so patients with the same mutation status are managed similarly. Individualized medicine goes further to the individual level, meaning every single person is treated differently based on their circumstances. Precision medicine is the use of molecular techniques for diagnosis and finding treatment targets, which can contribute to both personalized and individualized medicine
