What is the psychology behind advertisers intentionally making their commercials annoying to the viewers?

Why would a company intentionally make a commercial annoying? How could that possibly make the advertisement sUccessful? personally believe that when an advertisement is annoying I wouldn’t be enticed to purchase the product or service.

I thought the point of this sub was for people to not speculate, and there’s a whole lot of bullshit being speculated about here.

I work in advertising so I actually have the authority to answer this accurately: The point of advertising isn’t to make you like the advertising. You liking my commercial, billboard, or banner ad is not going to make me any money. The point is to make you remember the product or service being advertised. For all the bitching and moaning the public does about how much they hate advertising, they sure do seem to respond to it. Those annoying jingles and cheesy voiceovers embed themselves deep within your subconscious. You’ll groan and complain at the time, but when you next need insurance, you’ll be looking up rates on State Farm.
