I worked at a gas station for almost 3 years, its definitely indicating that if the price says 2.50, it’s actually 2.509 but we dont have partial pennies

It represents 9/10ths of a cent. Basically, it makes gas seem a little cheaper than it really is because they get a few more pennies with a fillup, and they get to round up to another whole penny at the end.
