There is different ones. E. g. there is Norephedrin which is an indirect sympathomimetic. It increases the noradrenalin (neurotransmitter) concentration in the synaptic gap (where one neuron’s axon ends with a synapse at the “next” neuron in the chain’s dendrites or soma to be forwarded over longer distances or alternatively at the “target” domain like a muscle).

That increase is achieved in two ways: by blocking the resumption of the neurotransmitter from the gap and by stimulating release from the presynapse

This activates the sympathic nervous system which inhibits the digestive system as opposed to an activation of the parasympathicus which stimulates it.
