What is the sensation you feel when you can feel someone watching you/pointing at you? Is it real or just happenstance?

I’m a Private Investigator and have been people watching my whole life. When I train investigators to follow someone, I tell them to not look at the person as they are driving behind them. Look at the license plate or anything else. People have a sense when they’re being looked at for sure. Probably some primal predator/prey shit hard-wired in our DNA. I also worked in a bar for a long time and women seem to know when they are being looked at more than men.
