What makes motorcycle pants/jackets so resistant to abrasion?

Using materials that are very sturdy and don’t break easily. There are different kinds of motorcycle gear, each with different levels of safety.
Best is leather, difference between motorcycle and regular leather being, that motorcycle leather is thicker and processed in a way, to make it more durable. Also it usually comes from animals with more durable skin (kangaroo is pretty common).
Textile clothes are less resistant. They are made of polyamid, which is, simply put, a kind of plastic, that is very durable.
Lastly, there are regular clothes, that are reinforced with aramid (aka Kevlar). aramid is also a synthetic fiber, but it’s made in a way to be lighter than the materials of normal motorcycle textiles, so it’s also a bit less abrasion resistant.
All of these will be sown together with strong thread and special stitching on the seams, so those don’t rip easily.
