What makes pancreatic cancer so deadly in comparison to other cancers?

My dad went it with sever stomach pains and was diagnosed with diabetes. 5 months later after tests it was pancreatic cancer and he died 1 ur after getting diabetes (which if not an issue prior, like a random diagnosis, have dr. check pancreas). Extremely difficult to diagnose
