What makes something feel ‘weirdly satisfying’?

Why are we addicted to watching videos of pimple popping, or things fitting in the perfect spot, or slicing kinetic sand for example?

Simplest way to answer that question is Dopamine. It’s a chemical that is released in the brain that makes you feel pleasant. Or very good. It’s an instinctual reaction to something either familiar or just generally pleasing to one of your senses, it can be detected by any of your senses, Hearing, Smelling, Tasting, Touching, Seeing etc. Even if you’re thinking about the right thing you can have a dopamine reaction.

When you’re seeing something like laminar flow, the easiest way to explain it is that it’s simply pleasing to your eyes, you just like it, and the reason you like it is because it’s satisfying.

Lost me at pimple popping… but some sort of connection to the oneness or synchronization of the universe.
