What makes the brain remember some moments in life more than others?

I’m talking about very specific moments, for example I still have some really strong memories from when I was 10 (is 30+ now) and they are so strong that it almost feel like I’m there when I think about it. The thing is that they re not any special moments and could just be some regular day to day activity or play.

At the same time I had whole trips with the family, reunions, funerals, etc that feels like a lot bigger moments or milestones that I don’t remember at all.

So what makes the brain remember some moments more than other?

Brain is one of the greatest mysteries yet to be discovered. However, it was said that brain tend to remember the things that are well connected; like if our memory is connected to specific scent, place or strong feelings such as (embarrassing memories etc…) they tend to remember it more than the insignificant ones. Also brain tends to remember memories when they’re repeated over and over again either in real life or in our minds. That’s why students are advised to keep studying their subjects many times to memorize it ( same implies to certain memory in your brain, you keep recalling it and that’s why it’s stuck there). At the end we don’t forget things it’s all there inside our magnificent brain but the trick is how to recall it.
