I believe the coughing is because the weed smoke is hotter than the cigarette smoke plus you’re trying to get big rips out of a joint not a cigarette. I’m not a professor in smokeology tho.

They put additives in cigarettes to make the smoke smoother on your lungs.

Also can have additives to make the smoke whiter, and taste better.

If its cheapish weed, dawg etc it is probably sprayed which makes you cough up a lung.
Decent stuff is a lot smoother.

Are you holding the weed smoke in? That’s going to make you cough for sure. People smoke the two things differently.

I take small puffs and blow it right out, like it’s a cigarette. It only takes a second for the THC to absorb, you don’t need to hold it in.

Other aspects of making a smoke smoother is curing. If your weed wasn’t properly trimmed, dried and cured then it’s going to be harsh. I make sure I trim as much leaf off the bud as possible, and I cure it for a minimum of 3 weeks. The longer it cures the smoother it gets. Cigarette tobacco is dried, cured and aged in a process that takes many months. And the processing ensures an even, consistent product that you don’t typically get with weed.

And then of course, cigarettes have filters which help reduce some of the tar.

Is like incense, they smell different because they have different components, also cigarettes have aditives to smooth the smoke, not that they smell better.

I would’ve thought the obvious reason is cigarettes usually have a filter?

Additives in the cigarettes. Add tobacco to weed and you won’t cough. Cigs are artifically smooth
