What really happens to a body in a casket? Does it truly decompose? Like what would happen if you opened a casket years later?

In the movies when a casket is opened it’s just a skeleton. Is that really what happens? Does the body just cave in on itself?

It kinda slowly melts as the bacteria eat it. Turns into a rotten soup in the bottom for a bit and the bacteria slowly eats away at it until there’s nothing left but bone.
