The Evil Eye is an ancient curse. People who wish to spread it can do so by by glaring in anger or envy at a person who doesn’t know you’re there. Versions of this persist in many cultures and religions. People wear amulets of different types to protect themselves from the curse; these come in all shapes and sizes, but almost all of them include the image of a staring eye, as though it were gazing back at whomever might be glaring at you. Usually this is said to reflect the curse back.
