Weight is where a mass is in a gravitational field exerting force downwards but it is being prevented from falling at the rate that gravitational force would pull downwards at. For instance, you’re standing on the ground. If you’re in freefall you are weightless.
So…………. if you have a mass of 100kg and you are standing at sea level on Earth where gravity has a value of 9.81 your weight would be 981 newtons.
