You feel weak… then you die.

If you remove the response, there’s no running nose, no cough, no sneeze, no fever.

Probably some inflammation of the affected part, so some light pain of some kind. But nothing big. It’s a cold virus so you would lose the oxygen from the lungs and therefore pass out before the pain gets big enough to be a concern.

Generally the painful sickness are the ones with small non vital areas with heavy infections. An infected cut on your hand can get very painful because you can survive to the point of feeling that much pain from that much infection. Infections of vitals generally KO you before you get to the big pain state. Lungs are quite vital.
