whats a food bank ? how they profit (do they profit ?)

I’m not american/european but i’ve seen so many posts about foodbanks…. what are they ? What do they do ?

expecting a food bank ot have profit is just silly(or a very US thing thing ot say).

Food banks are receiving donations to be redistributed to the people that need them. they are by definition a charity.

if anyone profits from them its usually the companies that donate to them, as they can generally get a tax write off.
