i know what ethnicity is. i want to tell people how judiasm is an ethno religion and if they ask me about ethnicity i wouldn’t know how to explain it. i googled it and none of it made sense. i know i could say an ethnicity is people who share the same culture but i know there’s more to it than that

People of a certain religion share common beliefs and traditions which were derived from those beliefs. They’re not related in any other way except for their beliefs.
People of a certain ethnicity share actual ancestors, and based on that, might share same features, such as color (skin, hair or eyes), as well as cultures and traditions – both passed down from ancestors as well.
Judaism is both. It’s a religion and an ethnicity. Ashkenazi Jews and Sephoradic Jews, share the same beliefs and some traditions which have derived from their beliefs, but they do not share the same ancestors and their cultures are different (food is totally different, demeanor is different, attitudes are different etc) – doesn’t mean that one is better than the other and generalizing is never good, but it’s almost like comparing British people to Italian people.
