I’m not educated very well on these topics but the posts I see make it seem like a very big deal. What is going on exactly? What can I do to help?

Chevron deference is the 40 year old doctrine that basically says federal agencies (administrators in charge of a particular topic) have authority to interpret laws, rather than courts needing to intervene. This makes sense because they’re the experts in those topics while judges aren’t. The Supreme Court has decided to overturn this, which is another power grab in addition to giving themselves the power to overrule prior court decisions (ignoring stare decisis) and the ability to overrule congress on certain issues (major questions doctrine). All of these are new powers that this Supreme Court has given itself in the past few years, and there is no oversight to them as a body.
Project 2025 is the far right’s plan to impose biblical laws and generally remove progressive policies. As the right wing Supreme Court gains power, the probability of Project 2025 coming to fruition is increasing.
You can help by educating yourself by reading the *hundreds* of articles about P2025. In short, they want the USA to revert to the 1700s by taking away minority rights, women’s right, workers’ rights, environmental protections, business regulations, etc etc etc.
