What’s happening when u tense your muscles like abs or your biceps voluntarily without any reason nor weight to make the muscle contract? could you potentially do exercise by contracting your abs while sitting?
If you do deep core work, a lot of it is done without moving around at all. There are plenty of static core exercises like planks. And women can do kegels without anyone even noticing lol

What you’re describing are a specific type of “isometric” exercises. It’s where you flex the muscle but don’t necessarily move it to lift weight. It is still good for you, so if you feel so compelled, it’s a fine idea.

That’s actually an exercise strategy.
You wont build mass or definition. Probably wont build any noticable strength but it does actively engage the muscles. Its good to do. Do it.

Bruce Lee used an electric exercise belt to do the equivalent of 500 sit-ups in 15 minutes.
