What’s the difference between cloning and asexual reproduction

Like in Hermaphrodite species, isn’t its reproduction basically cloning itself perpetually?

Yes, asexual offspring are usually clones.

But hermaphrodite doesn’t mean asexual in every case. Many species still sexually reproduce, just who takes the role of male and female isn’t set in stone (some snails for example fight over who has to play the female role wich “costs” you energy to produce eggs while the winner can immediately move on to the next partner)
