What’s the difference between firmware and drivers?

I’ve heard drivers described as “the translation layer between software and hardware”

If that’s the case, then wtf does firmware do?

Firmware – lives on the hardware. It can be simple like a game controller which might just translate the buttons into Bluetooth, or complex like a digital camera’s firmware which is basically a full blown OS.

Driver – tells a computer how to talk to some kind of external hardware.
